open letter from a police officer
You say we’re incompetent
You say we don’t care
Your lives are at risk too
This concern you think we do not share
How is it that in such a small country, the murder toll is 400 a year?
If this isn't Iraq, it’s surely damn near
Its all gang related, that’s what you constantly hear
But to hold back the truth, I can no longer bare
What can I do if my superior is corrupt?
What can I do if in every political party there’s a rot?
Child after child everyday another shot
But I can’t take the blame, Oh’ no I’ll not
I’m just a lowly Constable, just here filling my spot
The only problem is that any time I’m on a beat, I could end up dead...shot.
